The fourth Darnhill Festival takes place on Sturday 7th July 2007 at Heywood Commmunity High School, Sutherland Rd, Heywood. The festival procession leaves Argyle Parade at 12 noon. The procession will make its way up to the High School for a fun filled afternoon of live enertainment and attractions. If you would like to run a stall or an activity or perhaps perform on the main stage then please get in touch, we would love to hear from you. Volunteers are also welcome to support this community event.

Blowjangles lead this years procession, which will also feature The Fastest One Man Band in the World! The Darnhill shopping trolleys will feature the fabulous creations of Jean Compton and Darren Bradshaw, who have been working with local schools and community organisations. Look out for the sensational costumes, created by Kaboodle Design, in partnership with Pink Moon. On stage you will be entertained by Josephine Oniyama and her band, Petty Thief - the kings of Mancobilly, local heroes Joon and The Times, with others to be confirmed.

The Urban Stage will be on the tennis courts behind the main stage. The stage will be run by Sketchcity and Mind on Fire Collective and will offer a wide variety of Urban music and an opportunity to try your hand at graffiti art. Artists include Live Earth, Drunken Monks and HMD Crew. There will be an Open Mic session with the best artists providing a showcase on the main stage later in the afternoon. If you wish to take part in the Open Mic session you need to register here, or at the festival by 2pm. You need to supply the compere with a CD clearly marked with your name and the tracks you wish to use.

Attractions on the field include Jamboree Circus, who are hosting the arts tent, with a wide range of things to do for all the family. There will be stalls, inflatables, and the famous five-a-side football competition, run by RMBC sports development, this will be divided into two age groups, 8-11 and 12-16. You can register in advance or on the day.

There's masses to see and do so don't miss it!
